The Deadly Characteristics Of Cancer Mesothelioma

January 30th, 2010 by matthew lewis

Cancer mesothelioma, which is usually acquired due to prolonged inhalation of asbestos, affects the protective lining of our internal organs called the mesothelium and is a life threatening disease. The disease has wrecked the lives of many workers and ruined their families. Even a ban on the use of asbestos at workplaces has not helped much because the cancer develops only after many years after exposure to the material.

All types of mesothelioma, ie, the pleural, peritoneal and pericardial are deadly. The disease is diagnosed after many years of asbestos exposure making it difficult for the hapless victims to get compensation from the employers. It also hinders the treatment process.

Many governments have taken steps to help the victims. The use of asbestos in work places has been banned and there are laws which ensure adequate compensation measures. This comes as a great comfort for the family members to cope with the tragedy. Apart from this more and more researches are going on to find better treatment options for the patients suffering from cancer mesothelioma.

The early symptoms of the disease are fatigue, fever, wheezing etc. The patient is made to go through a long series of medications including chemotherapy once diagnosed with the disease. Chemotherapy is extremely painful with many side effects like nausea, fever, rashes, sores, fatigue, diarrhea or constipation etc. This can make the life of the patients extremely miserable. Surgery and radiotherapy are also employed as part of the treatment.

With the advancement in medical technology newer tools and procedures are invented for early detection and treatment of cancer mesothelioma. Modern treatment methods include immunotherapy, angiogenesis, photodynamic therapy, gene therapy, complementary and alternative medicine etc. These days palliative care is becoming highly popular. This involves lessening the pain the patient has to endure.

Long term clinical care is required for cancer mesothelioma. Joined efforts of social workers, medical experts, nutritionists and psychologists can work wonders for the hopeless patients. They can provide comfort and a motivation for the patients assailing in despair. Ultimately this will provide them the will to live and respond positively to the treatment process.

Natural Breast Cancer Treatment Vs Conventional Treatment

January 30th, 2010 by cancergal

If you’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer, chances are you’re not just going to let it spread through your body and kill you. You’re going to have to choose a treatment to try and get rid of it. These days, that means either conventional treatment or so called alternative or natural treatment.

Let’s take a look at each one:

Conventional Treatment - Presently, when we refer to conventional breast cancer treatment we are talking about surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation. These treatments are huge money makers for drug companies and doctors, but are they effective? People within the industry will tell you that these methods are exhaustively tested and that there are new and wonderful drugs coming out all the time. They’ll tell you that breast cancer is very complex and requires very complex treatment to be successful.

So, are they effective? In a word…not really. Despite millions and millions of dollars being raised for breast cancer awareness the results really aren’t that great. You’ll still have your treasured body parts cut off. You’ll still be pumped full of toxic chemicals and you’ll still be zapped with radiation. And for your trouble your survival rate isn’t much better than it was 50 years ago.

Alternative Treatment- Alternative treatments or natural treatments are just that. They generally come from nature in one way or another. Conventional medicine fails to recognize their validity, citing incomplete testing. The real reason is probably closer to the fact that they can’t be patented and sold as drugs, but I’ll let you make up your own mind.

While it is true that vigorous testing has not been implemented with most natural treatments, stories of their success at curing breast cancer are everywhere. These types of treatments are not being prescribed from uneducated tree huggers who are trying to fight the man. Real doctors with real credentials understand their value at killing breast cancer and all other cancers.

The bottom line is…conventional cancer treatment isn’t going to get to the bottom of the problem. It will attack the cancer cells (and healthy ones) but not address the underlying reason you got cancer in the first place. Alternative treatments will reverse the conditions that created a cancer-friendly environment to begin with as well as kill the cancer cells. The choice is always up to you, but in my mind there is no debate.

Why Mesothelioma Lawsuits Be Planned Perfectly

January 29th, 2010 by Heidi Wingrain

Litigations are always tricky, but mesothelioma lawsuits are trickier. There are some important reasons why mesothelioma lawsuits lose out at times.

First of all, mesothelioma cancer is an infection resulting from asbestos inhalation many years ago. It takes decades for the cancer to come out and assume life-threatening proportions. Secondly, most of our recently diagnosed mesothelioma patients were infected at a period when there were no prevalent laws governing asbestos use, precautionary measures etc. Finally, the number of mesothelioma lawyers with required expertise is very less.

These three factors combine to make mesothelioma lawsuits prone to loopholes. As in any other case, the unscrupulous elements responsible for asbestos infection at the first place would never hesitate to wriggle out through these loopholes. Therefore, the patient and the lawyer have some very important homework to do before filing such a lawsuit. First of all, the plaintiff needs to appraise his lawyer about all details regarding the infection. As the saying goes, you should not hide any facts from your lawyer. Every documentary evidences regarding your work history and health aspects should be presented before the lawyer so that he can make a fool-proof case against the responsible entities.

It is also important that the complainant and his lawyer develop a rapport so that the can move forward smoothly. The lawyer should, in turn, be able to implant a sense of security in the mind of his client. It would be even better if the lawyer has practical experience and enough skill to take the mesothelioma lawsuit to a desirable decision.

Since the role of a lawyer is great in deciding the victory or failure of the client, he should be selected with utmost care. Finding such an appropriate lawyer is not difficult since there are many law firms exclusively dealing with mesothelioma cases. After considering the options available, the most desirable person should be entrusted with the work. Mesothelioma lawsuits should not drag for more than two years since most of the patients do not survive after that period. A negative outcome of such a lawsuit would act as a terrible blow to the patients and the victims who were already bearing the brunt of the terrible disease.

Asbestos Mesothelioma - A Very Fertile Killer

January 28th, 2010 by matthew lewis

Asbestos is the main culprit behind the dangerous type of cancer, mesothelioma. Majority of the mesothelioma cases reported have a background history of exposure to asbestos behind them. Then also, cases have been reported rarely of this cancer where there was no involvement of asbestos particles. Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral which can be separated into fine threads. It is widely used in industries like manufacturing cement, brake linings, roof shingles, flooring products, textiles and insulation. Many hapless workers have become victims of asbestos mesothelioma due to the wide usage of the mineral.

During the manufacturing process, the tiny asbestos particles get scattered in the air. Unwittingly, the workers inhale or swallow these particles giving rise so severe health problems. It is found that asbestos exposure and smoking enhance the risk of contracting cancer of the air passageways in the lung. Many American workers have become hapless victims of the material since the early’40s. They include shipyard workers, people who are working in asbestos mines and mills, construction industries etc.

The risk of asbestos related disease increases with heavier and longer exposure to asbestos. However, there are exceptions like individuals with brief exposure developing asbestos mesothelioma and a few others who are heavily exposed not developing the disease. Asbestos has been mined and used for commercial purposes since the late’00s. Initially the risks involved in asbestos were not known. Once the link between the cancer and asbestos was established various laws came into existence for the welfare of the workers. Limits have been set for acceptable levels of asbestos exposure in the place of work.

The cancer is so malicious that it does not even spare the family members. Asbestos particles stick to the hair and clothing of workers thereby exposing the relatives also to them. In order to avoid this, rules have been formulated for the workers to have a bath and change of cloth before heading home.

Asbestos mesothelioma diagnosis is a difficult issue since the symptoms are noticeable after many years of exposure. Also, these symptoms are similar with those of many other diseases. These prove to be the main obstacles in detecting the disease at early stages. However, the advancement in medical technology has given victims many options of treatment though a complete cure is yet to materialize.

The Adversities Of Cancer Mesothelioma

The disease has wrecked the lives of many workers and ruined their families. Even a ban on the use of asbestos at workplaces has not helped much because the cancer develops only after many years after exposure to the material.

All the three forms of mesothelioma, that is, the pleural, peritoneal and pericardial are highly potent threats to human life. In many cases, the cancer is detected only after thirty years, making it difficult to either claim for damages from the offending employer or taking effective treatment.

Many governments have taken steps to help the victims. The use of asbestos in work places has been banned and there are laws which ensure adequate compensation measures. This comes as a great comfort for the family members to cope with the tragedy. Natural Cancer Cures - 3 Cures That Kill Cancer Faster Than You Thought Possible

January 26th, 2010 by Amos Hayes

In case you didn’t know there are natural cancer cures. Regardless of what you have been told by your family, friends, and the news media there are many natural cancer cures that are available today. A lot of individuals think that the only way that cancer can be cured is through radiation, chemotherapy or expensive surgery. I will tell you about 3 natural cancer cures that will easily beat cancer.

Natural Cancer Cure #1: Body Detox

If you want to prevent and eliminate cancer then you must detoxify your body. Detoxification is a process by which you cleanse your body. Everyday our bodies are bombarded by harmful toxins. We ingest these toxins through water, the air we breathe, and the food that we eat. What you need to understand is that these toxins are poisonous to the body. To be honest, it is virtually impossible to prevent and cure cancer without detoxifying the body. There are several cleanses that you can do to get rid of the toxins: a colon cleanse, a parasite cleanse, a liver cleanse, a kidney cleanse, and a full body fat cleanse. You can find products that will help cleanse your body on the internet or in your local health food store.

Natural Cancer Cure #2: Drink 3-5 Cups of Green Tea Each Day

If you are serious about preventing and eliminating cancer then you need to drink 3-5 cups of green tea daily. Personally, I prefer to drink green rather than soft drinks. Make sure you purchase organic green tea because it is not sprayed with harmful chemicals. Studies show that green tea contain powerful antioxidants that can neutralize free radicals in the body. Free radicals can destroy the DNA of the cells; this causes cancer to form.

Natural Cancer Cure #3: Increase Your Body PH

Another powerful natural cancer cure is to raise your body ph. 79 years ago Dr. Otto Warburg earned a Nobel Prize because he determined that cancer cells are anaerobic. This word anaerobic means without oxygen. He proved that in the presence of oxygen no cancer cells can survive. Cancer cells flourish when the ph of our body is low. You can increase the ph of your body by eating a lot of fruits & vegetables. You can also purchase ph booster. Put about 4-8 drops of this substance in your water or beverage. It will raise your body ph. This means that you will never get cancer.

Canine Cancer Treatment Find The Best Cancer Center In The World

January 25th, 2010 by cancergal

http://www.petdoghealthcare.com/ — Canine Cancer Treatment: Find The Best Cancer Center In The World

If your dog has been diagnosed with cancer, consider contacting one of the largest and distinguished cancer treatment centers in the world the Angel Care Cancer Center, with their main hospital located in Carlsbad, California.

In the field of veterinary oncology, this cancer center offers capabilities in diagnostic and therapeutic areas that, in many ways, are superior to that of many the finest human cancer centers in the world.

The Latest Canine Cancer-Fighting Evidence

A recent client education booklet that the Angel Care Center released states that there is much evidence to suggest that supplementing your dog with omega 3 fatty acids (n3 series), particularly DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), which is a long-chain fatty acid that may provide the following benefits for the canine cancer patient:

1) Can help inhibit the growth and development of tumors.

2) Can reduce the amount of toxicity during chemotherapy and radiation treatments while at the same time increasing the efficacy of these therapies.

The education booklet continues to say that the best source of DHA for the purpose of fighting cancer is best when it comes from algae instead of fish. The reason is that today’s waters have contaminated the fish with heavy metals (especially mercury) and organophosphates (pesticide chemicals).

Where To Find Algae-Based DHA

If you would like to start supplementing your dog or cat with DHA that comes from Algae, you can start by shopping at most natural health food pharmacies.

Small pets are instructed to receive approximately 200 mg once each day. Medium-sized pets should get the same dosage, but at twice daily. Larger breed of dogs should get 200 mg three times daily. And for those super-large breeds, 200 mg four times each day is necessary.

Ply-MVA: Another Amazing Cancer-Fighting Supplement

Studies also conducted by the Angel Care Cancer Center took into account the amazing results from using Poly-MVA, which is a liquid dietary supplement. It was invented in 1991 by Dr. Merrill Garnett. MVA is a proprietary combination of amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Not only does Dr. Merrill’s formula increase cellular energy and enhance the quality of life for the pet undergoing cancer treatments, it also helps facilitate the animal’s recovery by taking advantage of cancer cell dysfunction.

There have been nearly 1,000 canine and feline patients tested with Poly-MVA over the past several years, and nearly all of them enjoyed a better quality of life, especially those that combined DHA together with the Poly-MVA formula.

Why Everyone Should Purchase Sunscreens

January 25th, 2010 by Jake Zertosky

The sun gives off damaging ultraviolet rays that cause sunburn and cancer. The best way to protect from them is to use sunscreen as part of your skin care method. Damage from the sun causes premature aging as well. There are many different brands on the market.

The rays that cause cancer are UVA and UVB. Skin cancer is the most prominent form of cancer in the United States, with over one million cases annually. The sun damages the skin’s delicate layers and destroys the parts that give skin its youthful glow and supple tone. Sun exposure also causes aging spots.

Sunscreens with a skin protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher will do the best job protecting against the sun’s harmful rays. Many moisturizers and after shave lotions contain sunscreen and are good enough for every day protection.

Sun damage can harm the skin in more ways than one, causing premature sagging, wrinkles, and aging. The damage can’t be seen on the surface but lurks underneath. The skin can appear weathered and older than it should with too much exposure.

Photoaging causes lines around the eyes and once it has damaged the skin is hard to combat and revers. The best thing is to not have sun damage in the first place. Laser surgery and creams are also options.

Anyone over the age of six is recommended to wear sunscreen when going out in the sun. Children should not be exposed to the sun for too long. Overcast or not, the sun’s rays still penetrate and are harmful. After water exposure and sweating the sunscreen should be reapplied.

If you’re someone who likes to tan or who has skin that doesn’t burn easily, at least get a tanning lotion with some sunscreen in it. It may take a little longer to get a tan, but at least you’re filtering out the UV rays. There are also sunless tanning options, like sprays and lotions, that are more advanced now so they don’t give an orange tint to the skin.

Self tanning products dye the top layer of skin. They are low risk and usually the worst that can happen is just an allergic reaction or a skin rash if your skin doesn’t agree with it. Some even contain SPF, but be sure to get an SPF of at least 15 to have maximum protection from the sun.

Some types of sunscreen have more protection than others do and others may be better at deflecting harmful UV rays. There are now some products that are said to give one hundred percent complete protection from the sun. Check labels and shop around before buying one to make sure you have the most protection.

It’s always a good idea to wear sunscreen before going out for a long time and having more exposure to the sun. Your skin will thank you and stay more healthy. Be sure to always have it when going out on the water reapply after every activity. Swimming especially can wash off the much needed sunscreen.

Using sunscreen is an essential part of a skin care regimen. It helps protect you from the sun’s dangerous ultra-violet (UV) rays while protecting against harmful sunburn. More info on sunscreens .
